Elyon is a
vision...
A vision that is deeply rooted
in the African vision of a renaissance - of change, development and
hope for her teeming population. Experts have observed that the huge
leadership vacuum in governments, the professions and the
communities have created the present state of chaos, general decline
and underdevelopment in Africa .Elyon's vision is to arrest the
present decline by building a new generation of African leaders that
are visionary, skilled and servant-hearted. Elyon offers the future
leaders the finest education in an atmosphere that allows for the
development of social skills and of sound moral values - the kind
that endure the ever changing times. At Elyon, we provide an
environment that enhances vision, encourages creativity and makes
the pursuit of excellence a lifetime goal. Elyon College challenges
the would-be leaders to a life of integrity and inculcates in them
the spirit of servant leadership.
Elyon: More than a name The word
Elyon is from the Hebrew word El-Elyon meaning, “The Most High God”
or “The Exalted One”. Elyon itself means, “elevated”, “exalted” or
“lofty” The name is therefore significant in many ways. Primarily,
it proclaims The Most High God as the major Stakeholder in and the
Sustainer of the school. It also signifies the lofty heights the
school is poised to attain and the leadership (exalted) roles its
graduates will assume in the larger society. Elyon is therefore more
than a name. It reflects the school’s goals – lofty ideals; its
products – great leaders; and its Strength – The Most High
God.
